Chapelwood School for Young Children

Overview

Chapelwood School for Young Children features a PlayBooster® structure for ages 5-12 as well as PlayShaper® structures for ages 2-5 and 6-23 months.

These play structures were originally installed in 2000 and underwent a playground refresh in 2024. At the time of update, the main playground components including decks, roofs, and posts were still in great condition, but the school was interested in offering new sensory play experiences and wanted to rethink the safety surfacing.

Updates include the installation of turf around the existing 5-12 play structure and the addition of a poured-in-place track on the perimeter of the playspace. In the 2-5 play area, existing rubber mulch surfacing was removed and replaced with a seamless poured-in-place surface. A rain sound wheel, chimes, and color splash panels were installed within the existing play structure to add sensory-rich components while a a DigiRider® Bear added some bobbing fun!
